Spring

Spring is in the air. It feels so good to be outside. Looking at this picture you would think I was a little overprotective of the sun, but doesn't she just look sooo adorable? Of course, I think Ryan looks really handsome also, but he isn't the main focus of this blog.

Katie and I were out enjoying the sun while we waited for Ryan to come home for lunch. It seems like the 1/2 hour before he comes home for lunch, and the hour before he comes home at night are the longest times of the day. I'm sure it is just because it is a break in the routine. We both enjoy him being home so much. He brightens both our lives. Anyways, back to the picture... He came right over and sat with us and talked to us, even though the sun hurts his eyes. He obviously loves us both a great deal.

Now, I don't know if you can tell from this picture what we were doing on a different day.

You might not be able to see it very well, but there are small sticks and debris in her mouth. Obviously she decided that dirt would be really fun to taste. I didn't stop her before it got in her mouth, but I did think that she wouldn't want to try it again, because I really don't think dirt tastes that good. She does seem to think that rocks are tasty though. Actually, even if something doesn't taste yummy, she usually tends to open her mouth for a second try. Hopefully she will keep that willingness-to-try-new-foods for the future.

Katie repeatedly wanted to taste the dirt, even when I told her it was "yucky". She threw a fit when I took her inside. I almost got upset at her, because she got dirt in her mouth, on her hands, on her clothes, on the sidewalk, even in her diaper. Then I looked at her, and thought, "I've got to get a picture." Looking at her now, it doesn't really look that bad. I realize that. I'm sure she will get much dirtier in the future. I just wanted to share more pictures, since it seems like I forget to take pictures as often as I should.
