Random Thoughts

Katie has stood by herself quite a few times this week. Sometimes she doesn't realize what she has done, and then when she sees that she is standing by herself, she will slowly sit down. Other times she will look at me to make sure I'm watching, then she will let go and just smile at me. The longest she stood by herself was about 7 seconds. It is very cute.
We are trying to teach her how to get off couches, laps, beds, etc. by scooting backwards until her feet touch the ground. She is so proud of herself for being able to do this. She will start to dive off the edge, and I tell her to turn around. Then she will get a big grin on her face as she slides to the ground. She is such a pleasant baby.

Of course, she throws fits quite often throughout the day. Every time I tell her no, she will go all stiff and after about 3 seconds of building up the energy, will scream at me. If I can get her distracted before those 3 seconds are up, she tends to forget she was upset.
We bought new curtains for her bedroom. Then, we bought blackout material to put behind the curtain so that no light will shine through. We hope this will help her sleep a little better during the day, and maybe help her sleep-in in the mornings. We haven't seen much of a difference yet, but it's only been one day.

I love Spring. I love the flowers, and the new growth. I love the green coming out of the brown. I love the warmer weather. I love the sun. What a wonderful world our Heavenly Father has made for us! I especially love April. We have General Conference and Stake Conference both in April. Easter is usually in April. Lots of birthdays in April.
So, life is good here. I'm trying to get stuff done outside, like weed, put a brick border on some flowerbeds, weed, plant petunias in my pots, weed, and I think there is some weeding I need to do somewhere.
