Elayna had her 4 month visit with the doctor on Dec 8th. She was 25 inches long, and weighed 15 lbs, 2 oz.
Elayna rolled from her tummy to her back on Dec 11th. She did it twice in a row, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a fluke. (hasn't happened since)
On Dec 12th my family went to the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. Irma watched the girls for us. For 9 hours. And Elayna was still primarily nursing. We have been training her to take a bottle at least once a day, in prep for this concert. When we got home, she was asleep. In the middle of the night, the first time I fed her, she finished on the one side, and I was burping her. Her little hand reached around the front of my neck, grabbed my ear, and she gave me a squeeze. Then she laid her head on my shoulder. It made me feel as though she really missed me.
It sounded like Elayna was singing in the car this afternoon. She must like Christmas music.
Elayna has been sleeping in her crib in Katie's room since about Christmas.
Elayna is demanding more of our attention, and as a result, Katie has become a bit more demanding also. Katie has figured out, unfortunately, that she has a free will, and she is flexing all her boundaries. It couldn't be that Katie is 2 1/2 years old.
Elayna is giving sloppy, open mouth kisses.
Elayna started eating peas and cereal this week. (Jan 11th) laughing lots; still likes standing up and jumping. Her sister likes to jump also, as shown:
Elayna has excema on most of her body. The doctor gave us some Hydrocortizone cream to put on the most sore spots, and it is really looking a lot better. The body cream we are putting on the rest of her body seems to be helping also, thank goodness. She was scratching her chest, legs, and face so much they were all swollen and red. It looked awful.
Elayna has found her feet. She will grab onto them while we are changing her diaper, or when she is on the floor. (Jan 15th) Of course, she is so wiggly when I'm changing her diaper. She bounces up and down the entire time. It makes it very difficult to get her clean. Especially lately, when she has a little bit of a rash down there. She will bounce, and try to scratch, all while I'm trying to keep her hands out of the messy diaper, and her diaper away from everything else. Yuck.
She is able to see a toy or rattle, pick it up, and shake it around. She loves Katie so much! Katie can cheer her up anytime just by smiling and talking to her. Thankfully, Katie apparently feels the same way about Elayna. Katie was upset about having to wake up one afternoon, and then she saw Elayna, and just grinned, and talked to her.
Elayna tried carrots yesterday (Jan 27th) and green beans the day before that. I think she is excited to be able to eat at the table like the rest of us.

cute kids! I always think it is fun when the babies get to start eating with the rest of the family.
Your kids are so adorable. Having a 2 year old sounds like a handful, but probably a lot of fun, too.
She is a little doll!
